I’ve been making cards for over 15 years — long before it was a business, back when it was just something I needed to do. My husband knew what he was getting into when he helped me pick out my Silhouette Cameo before we were even married. Spoiler: I’ve been cutting, layering, and assembling ever since.
By day, I work as a videographer, a career built on telling other people’s stories. Card making is where I get to tell my own. It’s my creative exhale. The place where the project is entirely mine, from the first die cut to the final cello sleeve.
BKS Cards and Crafts is based in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and every single card is made by hand — right here, one at a time, with intention.
I believe in snail mail. I believe in the kind of connection that requires you to slow down, pick something out, write something real, and put it in an envelope. In a world of instant everything, a handmade card says I stopped. I thought of you. I made something.
That’s worth something.
Every BKS card features a replaceable message insert — a standard 3.5″ x 5″ index card slides into an interior pocket so your card can be sent again and again. Because a card this good shouldn’t end up in a drawer after one use.
